Silverwood Theme Park version 3.0

Scarywood 2011 Photo Trip Report from our October 15th Visit!

Page 1

With the summer of 2011 fading into the distant past, Silverwood and it's fans once again looked forward to the month of October with plans for the third presentation of Scarywood Theme Park. After the huge success of the 2010 version, the park had a lot of expectations to live up to. As if that weren't enough, they even decided to take matters back into their own hands by not re-hiring Gore Galore. A risky move, no doubt, but this is Silverwood we're talking about here. And although much of what we saw this year was similar to 2010, Scarywood Theme Park definitely still packed a solid punch, delivering more scares, vastly improved theming, and a new attraction to top off the mix. Yet again, this is not an event you want to pass up!

Now, on with the photos!

The Roller Coaster Alley crew headed out to the park on Saturday, October 15th. After a gorgeously sunny and clear day in the upper 60's, we headed up to the park, where the forecast predicted a nice chilly low of 32 degrees. Armed with plenty of layers, a camera, and a hunger for scares, we made our way to the entrance. We were greeted with not only long lines of eager guests (even at 6:30pm!), but a 9 foot monster. It's nice to see the park working to keep guests entertained, even at the front gate.

Inside, we find Main Street smothered with spider-webs.

As usual, every building was well covered - even the ones that weren't open!

More spider-webs.

Bales of hay, corn stalks, pumpkins, and scarecrows adorned all areas around the paths. In the back, you'll notice the Theater of Illusion. No magic show inside, but they're still open for pizza!

More themeing around the country carnival.

The park does an excellent job decorating every possible area. This jack-o-lantern was one of our favorites.

The entryway to the country carnival was hard to recognize, as usual.
