Silverwood Theme Park version 3.0

Scarywood 2013 Photo Trip Report from our October 11th Visit!

Page 1

Scarywood seems to creep up on us (no pun intended...) faster each year! 2013 marks the 5 year anniversary of Silverwood's transformation into Scarywood Haunted Nights. With a slew of new scare zones, photo ops, and new/rethemed haunts, we had a lot to look forward to. On with the photos!

We'll start off over at the Ancient Ruins - formerly "Terror Canyon Trail" in previous years. The entryway looked awesome!

Outside, we see evidence of an archeological expedition, with signs leading us to their dig site inside.

The theming in the queue alone was great.

While waiting in line, a recording plays the fourth journal entry of the lead scientist. It seems most of his team has abandoned the site for fear of their lives. One of his crew found hieroglyphics depicting blood coming directly out of the temple doors at some point in the future. The markings indicate that these future events were foretold to take place...TODAY! Up ahead, we see the dig site entrance marked off as closed...and for good reason!

On the walls, a map of the dig site gives us a glimpse at what we are in for.

Inside the building, more maps and tools adorn the walls.

The inside of this haunt was extremely elaborate, with some impressive scareactor costumes and sets!

Check out the theming of the entrance to the tunnel portion of the trail.

Another amazingly well done set of what appears to be the outside of the temple. Watch out, as several scareactors are well hidden!

We can't say enough good things about The Ancient Ruins. It did not disappoint in the least. A small part of us will miss Terror Canyon - after all, it was the only original haunt left from Year 1. But this was a very welcome upgrade to an attraction that desperately needed a new theme. Excellent costumes, amazing themeing, and a perfect storyline to blend in with the natural surroundings of the raft ride trench. Well done!

3Dementia, the new haunt from 2012, returned for 2013 by popular demand. This year, the attraction was moved to be in the Picnic Pavilion area. Beyond this entry point, guests walk back quite a ways before reaching the actual building.
