Great news – entertainment lives on at Scarywood in 2026! The park has quietly introduced The Slider Show for 2026. Here, we’ll explain what the show entails, when you can see it, and how to make sure you don’t miss this excellent offering on Scarywood’s ‘secret menu.’

For starters, let’s give a bit of background. What exactly is a “slider”? Sliders refer to scareactors who slide around on pavement using knee pads, hand pads, and other equipment that allow them to perform a variety of stunts and scares. Traditionally, they hide out in scarezones throughout the park and use their skills to jump scare park guests, as the “sliding” often creates loud noises and sparks along the ground.

In recent years, groups of these “slider” actors have put together choreographed stunt shows and performances. We only recently learned about these shows after hearing about the performance at Scarywood, but they’re apparently nothing new. That said, the shows we saw looked really cool and impressive, so naturally we were excited to get to see one in person.

As mentioned above, the show is, for now, an “unofficial” offering at the park – it’s not listed on the website, social media, or on any park materials. The only mention of it to this point is on the most recent episode of the Silverwood Show Podcast from a few weeks ago. The group performs twice per night, at 8pm and 10pm. Performances are just north of the Corkscrew, on the 3-Point basketball challenge area. The Slider Show runs about 10 minutes, is dependent upon weather, and will not be shown in the rain.

The viewing area is “standing room only”. There’s lots of space up along the fence for viewers to watch with an unobstructed view, but we noticed that the “front row” view was full at about 10 minutes prior to showtime.

Although information online is limited, you can find video snippets of the Slider Show on Facebook and Instagram, posted by a few of the performers. Here’s a clip from one of them:

As should be evident from this clip, the show looks really well done. It’s high-energy, exciting, and on point with the theme and vibe of the event. The performers do a lot of impressive stunts and acrobatics, and really bring a new element to Scarywood that we haven’t seen before. Previous shows like Hellbilly’s leaned heavily into crude humor, which personally didn’t always land for us. The Slider Show avoids all of that, and instead focuses on simply delivering a top-notch stunt show with a solid “wow” factor. We also love that the shorter runtime means it doesn’t eat up too much of your evening, while still packing enough of a punch to make it worth your time.

We visited the park this past weekend, super excited to check this show out in person. Alas, the best laid plans of mice and men…

We skipped the 8 p.m. show as we were busy with our usual “rope drop” strategy of tackling attractions on the south end of the park, planning to catch the 10 p.m. performance instead. Unfortunately, we (again) picked a night where the weather was not in our favor. We arrived about 15 minutes early and snagged a good spot right at the fence. Then, the rain started back up. It wasn’t much, but we feared it was probably enough to cause the show to be called off, and it was. About 10 minutes before 10pm, the sandwich board sign was put away, and the lighting and sound equipment was packed away for the night.

So, we unfortunately can’t give a first-hand review of the show. Instead, we can offer our advice for viewing, and hopefully help others avoid our mistake! If weather is questionable at all on the night you visit, be sure to try for both showtimes. We don’t know exactly what the official policy is on how much rain warrants a cancellation, but our point here is to simply hedge your bets. Don’t make the same mistake we did of assuming it will run at both times, because you might end up missing it altogether.

Suffice to say, the Slider Show is a very welcome addition to the lineup at Scarywood, and fills a gap that has existed for a while now. While we haven’t seen the show in person yet, the videos we’ve watched are enough to earn it our endorsement. If it sticks around and grows in future years (and we hope it does!!), we’d love to see improved viewing options, such as tiered bleacher-style seating or something similar. And perhaps even a covered stage so that weather doesn’t interfere as much. For now, we’re just happy to see a completely new show at Scarywood, and from what we can tell, it appears to ‘stick the landing’ in just about every way.
