The Roller Coaster Alley team headed to Silverwood on Saturday September 25th for the final “normal” operating weekend of the 2021 season.  There were some familiar sights, as well as some new ones (maybe just to us), on this gorgeous, yet extremely crowded final Saturday.

Welcome to Silverwood!  Nothing like a skyline of coasters to start off your morning.

Always nice to see nothing in the “Temporarily Closed Rides” section.

Tunnels are good.

Blue skies over the entry plaza

Huckleberry treats are gone!  This wall is now full of souvenir mugs.

Some new Stunt Pilot gear in the entry shop.

If you know, you know.

Where in Silverwood is this?  Leave your guess below in the comments!  (Hint: It’s not Lindy’s.)

Ginormous chess set is back!

M&M characters have found their way to the Sweet Shop.

The new and improved Roller Coaster Alley sign!  Nicely done!

Stunt Pilots first inversion now sports this safety netting.  Obviously to prevent loose articles from flying down toward the path below.  Kind of takes a bit away visually, but we get it.

A couple of new (to us) signs on the Stunt Pilot fence.

With the Fall Season comes changing colors, all things Pumpkin Spice, and Timber Terror backwards!

Happy to report this guy opened up in the afternoon.  A bit late, but better late than never!

Another “new to us”.  The rafts at Thunder Canyon are all-new, and wow do these make a difference.  The low sides mean that every wave is relentless!  Talk about a much improved experience!

Tried the pizza from Caselli’s.  We like it.  Has a very similar taste to the pizza at Nick Norton’s place, but obviously smaller sizes, and a bit thicker crust?

New signage for the “Express Line” (formerly Single Rider).  Not many were using this.

We wanted to stick together as a group, so we avoided it this time as well.  Still very happy that Silverwood has this option for this amazing coaster.

Lots of new themed décor around the Stunt Pilot load building.

Fun stuff.

Good to see Silverwood playing up the theme.

Waits for most attractions on Saturday hovered around the 30 minute mark.  It was an extremely busy day due to great weather, promotions, and it being the final weekend of the normal operating season.

Silverwood had a great run in 2021 – we’re especially impressed with Stunt Pilot and the way it really rounds out the coaster experience in the park.  All we want now is for Tremors to get the rest of its track replaced with more of that delicious RMC I-Box “RetraK”……

It will be interesting to see what the park does next, though we anticipate a year or two before the next big addition, and suspect it’s probably Boulder Beach’s turn to get some love.  What do you think they should add next?  Let us know in the comments section below.

We finished off our day with the traditional feast at Lindy’s.  We’ve said it before, if you aren’t eating here, you are missing some of the best food in the park.  It’s a great dining experience, especially on the patio with the Silverwood Railroad right next door.

Farewell until 2022 Silverwood, and thanks for another fantastic year!
